Vision Zero South West Area Profile
Today (19th May 2022) our CEO Richard Owen is presenting the findings of our most recent Area Profile to the Vizion Zero South West Board including PCC Alison Hernandez and lead members for transport across the two counties of Devon and Cornwall.
The report, which is an update to our previous research, looks at a variety of themes in nearly 200 pages or analysis and insight. Our unique methodology looks at resident casualties, their risk and community profiles, as well as collisions on the roads. It identifies groups at highest risk as well as those that are over-represented based on population size. To find out more about Area Profiles visit the product page here.
The report for VZSW included an analysis of the 2020 data which was influenced heavily by lockdowns and changing travel patterns. It also includes forecasts and projections for future casualty numbers and identifies which road user groups should be prioritised. The event will include a discussion on next steps as this ambitious partnership seek to make a significant impact on casualty reduction by implementing safe system methodologies that follow the data.
